GasNet Australia Pty Ltd (GasNet) requested OSD to carry out a safety management study for all of GasNet’s existing transmission pipelines and associated facilities throughout Australia. Using an in-house GIS linked risk software package, OSD was able to add significant value to GasNet though cost reduction in the risk evaluation process, and by ongoing operational safety management.
The project included a review of all existing risk assessment material related to the pipelines and assessment of all external threats. The project culminated in the preparation of a safety management study with results communicated via workshops with GasNet personnel. The pipeline studies ranged from 4” to 30” diameter and MAOP pressures from 2,760 to 10,200 KPag.
