CO2 Re-injection Study
CO2 Re-injection Study
| Project Type | Location | Commodity | Summary |
| Feasibility Study | Australia | CO2 | various length pipelines with 24" - 48" diameters |
OSD Pipelines was involved in a feasibility study for a client who is considering the development of a new process for coal fired power generation using a clean coal technology with limited carbon dioxide (CO2) gas emissions. The process requires a very limited supply of natural gas for continuous operation, but requires substantial gas volumes for start-up of the power station.
One requirement of the study is the supply of natural gas from local pipeline infrastructure. In addition, the requirement for CO2 export for sequestration will require a dedicated CO2 export pipeline to be constructed. OSD supplied preliminary engineering to provide options for gas supply, capital cost estimates associated with gas supply and CO2 pipeline for export. Desktop route evaluations and preliminary sizing of both pipelines and compressors were completed.
